CUEVAS DE NERJA

PREVIOUS / NEXT

NERJA by KRISS on 24 september 2015

So we went to visit the caves in Nerja, quite famous, and of course what tool did I confidently bring along to shoot in such a dark place ?

A tripod of course.

I should have known better.
Right at the entrance we were told "no tripode" and I had to let my stabilizing friend before entering the caves.

I have more than a string to my arrow and managed to shoot without seeing what I was shooting for most of the shots, using the environment to lean upon.

But with long exposures such as 8, 10 or 15 seconds, leaning against anything else than a flat ground doesn't get you anywhere.

Our fabulous D4s managed however to get these few shots for which I give the machine all the credit.

Aside from this photographic misadventure, the caves are a lot cooler than outside and are magnificent.
We visited deeper and bigger caves in France but not quite as spacious as this one.
It feels like you are in an enormous lounge the size of a small town.

To me it was a mix of a star wars episode and dune.
I loved it !
