DUBAI AIRPORT

PREVIOUS / NEXT

TRAVELS by KRISS on 13 september 2015

DUBAI AIRPORT Dubai airport is to airports what New York or Tokyo are to cities.
It is simply gigantic.
The bus that had tinted windows (spooky, very cold war style) took about half an hour to get us from the plane to the terminal.
And once inside, oh boy, it just never ends.

There are more shops than you can imagine, more luxury that the eye can bear and also camel chocolate which we unfortunately didn't try due to its overpriced tag.

Next time we'll be sure to do that.

Also, if you want to enjoy a smoke in Dubai (I know, I know) and not in the enclosed cubicles with air-con, you need to get out of the airport and this is how we got our Visas got stamped and we set foot on Dubai's soil for about 15 minutes.

Just enough time to discover the country had male taxis and female taxis with men and women drivers.
The "female" taxis are pink and so are the drivers.
It was halfway between Noddy and Lawrence of Arabie.

And the policemen were very friendly as well, we bumped into two policeman who were joking about something and they offered us sweets as we were walking on them.

That's about it for Dubai.
Next time, we will certainly plan flights in order to have at least half a day ahead of us to visit a bit.
