MANGROVE BOAT RIDE

PREVIOUS / NEXT

CAMBODIA by KRISS on 29 january 2017

When you finish visiting the ruins of the temples of Banteay Srey you will most likely have a group of landmine victim musicians playing on your right and a road that either goes to some more ruins I think or on the right to a small pier.
There you can take a small wooden boat that can really easily be overboard simply by extending your arm.
Taking photographs was tricky, especially with an 85mm lens that requires a minimum distance to focus but I did.
It took about 30minutes and $7 to cross from one side of the mangrove to the other and it was one of the most peaceful experience ! I can only recommend it.
Back to the parking where our tuk tuk is waiting for us, scores of coaches have arrived and the place is packed full ! My camera is my backpack and I don’t feel like getting it out again.
Maybe I should have traveled with another backpack !
