AQUARIUM VS UNDERWATER

PREVIOUS / NEXT

UNDERWATER by KRISS on 09 february 2017

What is the difference between shooting behind an aquarium or a water housing ? Well not that much when you come to think of it.
Technically, your camera is protected from the water behind a glass.
But then you get a lot more freedom of movement when shooting behind an aquarium.
You get to choose the lens you use, pretty much any lens, you can step backward, move naturally in your primary element, air.

Whereas shooting underwater you just over complicate yourself, having to use certain lenses, mostly wide angles and macros, you can only move as well men can move underwater.
You do not have access to your settings the same way you have behind an aquarium.
So why does the photographs shot behind the glass of an aquarium feel bland ? Maybe because I know it or simply because creating the photographs is the most exciting part and I like diving with fish and mermaids and all.

Whatever, these are a few shots I shot from behind a glass, but which ones are which, I won’t tell you, I let you guess.
