SALT WATER POOL

PREVIOUS / NEXT

UNDERWATER by KRISS on 18 august 2016

I usually take my mermaid clients to the end of Burriana beach in Nerja for underwater photoshoots.
However, we are in summer and as you may know, Nerja still hasn’t got a sewage plant running.
I wrote a few articles on the topic already and I just need to say that when you get unlucky with the currents you don’t even want to put one foot in the water.

This happened to me yesterday morning and fortunately my client had a backup plan, one of her friend’s swimming pool ! And what’s even better, that’s a salt water swimming pool !

I suspect it was also running chemicals to be that clear and because the raw files came out very very blue (which is a sign of high chlorine in the water).

Anyways, with a bit of Lightroom the results in terms of clarity are amazing ! By far the best you can get in the area.

What annoys me when I shoot in swimming pools is the background, with pool ladders, filters etc… I sometimes bother to correct them through Photoshop and sometimes I don’t ! Anyways, I’ll be shooting there in a couple of days again and really look forward to this great sized pool.
I might try wider apertures and see what happens with the background !
