DSLR EQUIPMENT IS TOO HEAVY

PREVIOUS / NEXT

HONG KONG by KRISS on 12 february 2017

DSLR EQUIPMENT IS TOO HEAVY Walking, standing, waiting, queuing, more walking, lifting your bags into the above compartment on the plane, getting them out.
It took us 10 planes to realise our last trip and my back can tell you about it.
I was carrying the bare minimum because I wanted to travel light but once the water housing in the bag, I was already carrying too much for all that walking, standing, waiting etc… I got to carry Rose’s bag a few times too, which I should have anticipated but she wasn’t carrying any equipment.

My point is, look at the photograph I’ve posted I look like a donkey ! DSLR equipment is very heavy and when you’re carrying it around all day plus a bottle of water plus this and that, it really is too much weight.
Investing in a backpack that feels lighter can be one solution but it wasn’t my solution for that trip, I took a practical backpack (Crumpler the base) but certainly not the best piece of equipment out there in terms of back support.

Next time, I’ll re-think again the number of airports and probably will take a carry on suitcase with wheels for all the heavy stuff and just a light daypack for the day ! And as regards to cameras, Fuji I am looking at you !
