TROPICAL ANIMALS

PREVIOUS / NEXT

ANIMALS by KRISS on 24 september 2015

So when you travel under a certain latitude you are bound to bump into animals and insects you don't find much in the northern hemisphere.

When we lived in Scotland I remember pointing out that if the weather was crap at least we didn't have to worry about spiders.
I actually think I never saw any up there.

So our adventures with insects started on the wrong foot in south of France where our house was home of many many scorpions.
In time we got used to them and stopped caring too much until the EVENT.

One night, Kate woke up thinking there was a night butterfly in the room and switch the bed light on to see a scorpion placidly creeping on her tight.
She literally jumped out of the bed and so did the certainly frightened poor little pervert.
Never after that have we kept anything under our bed !

Fortunately, we also came across nicer little friends like geckos (can you spot the gecko on the palm tree), beautiful spiders in the vallée de Mai in Seychelles (Kate is still not convinced about the beauty of the animal, and many many more at the museum in Montreal ! So that's for an unabridged collection of insects and other friends.

We certainly have more photos but I can't be bothered going through all our photos to find them, sorry !
