WAITING FOR A WINDOW

SAILING by KRISS on 30 march 2019

WAITING FOR A WINDOW The girls have been nagging me for ages now “When are we going? Are we going soon? Are we going tomorrow?”.
I can’t blame them we’ve been stuck in Cartagena for far too long although it was a most definitely necessary time to prepare Celedon and the opportunity to meet fantastic folks.
In no particular order and to name a few: Mas que Nada, Belle Lurette, Julo, Apache, Paikea, Perfect Harmony, iMystic…

Our time here has been blessed with good omens and pretty good weather for a winter but now it’s time to do our thing and go.

But it’s not like a road trip where you can simply set on a date, switch the engine on and go.
On the sea, especially in the Med, you must be very careful about the weather and be cautious.
Lately it’s not even been a question of being cautious, the weather has been plain wrong for us to go, we have the wind on the nose and it’s been going on for a couple of weeks now.

Next week shows some changes but are they improvements? Out of 4 different models, we get 4 different forecasts and they keep changing every update.
Not very reassuring to say the least.
So we’re very tempted to take the first available window and go but is it what we should do.
For instance if we get a 24h00 window and are then stuck somewhere else for another week is it really worth it?

Today we’re going to have a chat with friends who are heading the same way and share some thoughts.
We’ll keep you guys updated!
