OUR 5 BEST WEDDING STORIES

PREVIOUS / NEXT

WEDDING by KRISS on 22 january 2016

Now is time for us to tell you the 5 best stories that we can remember which happened during weddings we were covering.

1 - Getting blessed by the preacher

This was by far the best church ceremony we had yet ever attended (we went to an even better ceremonial in Seychelles afterwards) and both Kate and I were mesmerized during all the ceremony.
The father was talking about things that really touched everyone and in a very simple manner and joyful way.
Freshly arriving from Africa, this native preacher had unusual ways for a rather conservative christian European community and his calling the people to join him into singing and dancing was a blessing in itself.
But he did even better and once the ceremony was over, just before we had to rush out to keep doing our job, the preacher got us together, put his hands above our heads and blessed us.
This is one of the best experience I’ve ever had on a wedding shoot.

2 - Making kids feel good about themselves

Whenever we set up a photo booth, we get a bunch of kids looking at the whole thing with admiration and envy in their eyes.
And if you know kids you know they don’t get tired easily and will keep coming to the photo booth again and again.
Well, we pride ourselves into having found the ultimate trick to get the photo booth running even for other guests by simply keeping shooting the kids with props and disguises with another camera.
They enjoy it a lot and everyone’s happy !

3 - The drunk city hall employee

One afternoon, end of the summer, heavy weather and probably heavy lunch break… That day, the mayor assistant probably had one too many and was noticeably drunk.
As a result he kept making mistakes while reading the names of both bride and groom, getting confused with his papers and as he couldn’t hide his drunkenness anymore, playfully laughed with everyone at his own state.
It made the atmosphere which had been building up considerably lighter, got the bride and groom laughing to tears and we got wonderful shots !

4 - The unexpected couple session

It was a tricky and unusual wedding.
A couple contacted us at the very last minute to cover their wedding in July.
Of course we already had a wedding that day but they insisted on us covering at least the boudoir and couple photos in the evening.
They had discovered our work through model and milk dress photography and their request was unusual for a wedding.
Anyways, we managed to work both timetables fine and covered all their wedding party at their huge flat in the evening.
There they asked us to come up with funny ideas for couple pictures and having taken lots of studio light equipment at their request, they disappeared for a wee while in their bedroom with us to make some very funny wedding pictures of them fighting with pillows ! 5 - The horses in the meadow

One of our bride was a horse rider and the reception was held near horses and a ranch.
When we took the bride and groom for some couple pictures near a meadow we had not expected both horses and cows to be attracted and curious enough to get in the middle of the shoot.
But they did ! It was a fantastic experience.
The bride messed up her dress and shoes with mud but truly didn’t care.
She was feeding horses part of her wedding bouquet and she was loving it, it was really surreal and magical.
