APPLE CAN BE SUCH A PAIN

COMPUTERS by KRISS on 12 march 2016

APPLE CAN BE SUCH A PAIN It’s a revolution ! Apple.
I purchased my first Macbook in 2003 and never got back to Window since.
I used Linux a bit because both systems are quite similar (Mac being an awful lot simpler and user friendly though) and because I didn’t have a choice.
But that’s only talking about computers.

When they got the ipod out, I purchased one Ipod touch and one Ipod mini, the square ones with the screen.
My ipod mini was lost over a year ago and I miss it every day ! This was a great piece of equipment, robust, battery lasted forever, user friendly, I would buy a new one my eyes closed.
Ipod touch not as user friendly on the streets but at home, very cool ! I still have the ipod touch and it’s working just fine !

I got the iphone 1 or 2 I can’t remember as it was paid by the company I was working for at the time.
This is when I started struggling with Apple products.
After hacking it to be able to install things like a terminal, php and mysql, I moved on to an Android phone when I got the chance and never looked back at apple phones ever.
I only found Android was missing the vocal messaging system of the iphone 4 but that was it.

Now I still work with an Apple computer and I recently needed to set up a facetime account to be able to chat with clients of ours.

It’s not the first time the apple ID has been a pain for me, first when I needed to update my OS to Yosemite and now with this.
Apple OS is supposed to have a keychain that stores passwords and it’s working fine except for its own products ! To recover your password if you click on the link it will ask you to go to iforgot page without even providing a link.
And in the past you couldn’t even set up an account to install the free updates without filling in a credit card details.

Lastly, I have had to transfer photos from phones to my computer and never ran short of options with android phones.
Either the standard micro USB port or the bluetooth always worked fine.
But to synchronize an iphone with any Apple computer this is not as smooth.
First if you don’t have the proprietary cable you can try the airdrop which simply doesn’t work.
Then when you get the cable (which by the way changes from one iphone to another) you need to import through iphoto and need to slide and unlock the phone etc…

Apple have made numerous mistakes with their equipments and if it wasn’t for the quality of their computers and the use of ease of their OS 99% of the time, these simple little annoying things would surely have look at other options.
